💙If you would like to watch a video of this devotion, find it here: Our Race is Getting Faster and Harder.
In Jeremiah 12:1-4 Jeremiah complained about injustice, saying, “You are always righteous, LORD, when I bring a case before you. Yet I would speak with you about your justice: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the faithless live at ease?”
When he faithfully shared God’s truth, he was persecuted and despised.
Have you felt Jeremiah's pain?
I often feel this way about our present culture. People once tolerated immorality; now they celebrate it as Romans 1:32 says:
“Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”
Christian values are mocked everyday.
Christian values are mocked everyday.
If you lovingly share the Bible’s teaching on homosexuality, premarital sex, transgenderism, or abortion, you’ll feel Jeremiah’s pain.
If you trust God and defend His Word you may face rejection from friends and family members. It happened to Jeremiah (Jeremiah 12:6).
So how did God answer Jeremiah’s complaints?
He said, “If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses?” (12:5)
God understood Jeremiah’s pain, but the race was getting faster and God wanted Jeremiah to pick up the pace and keep running.
Dear friends, this message applies to us as well.
The race is getting faster and harder, but God's Word will give us speed and endurance. Let's stand firm and run the race with God's strength.

ReplyDeleteIt's way past time to add racism and the sin of it to that list. Seriously, it can no longer be deflected. It is disobedience and it is addressed in the Bible.
ReplyDeleteHi JeeSun,
DeleteI agree that racism is a problem, and if you are a regular reader of my blog, you'll know that I've written about it several times.
It doesn't fit the theme of this devotion which deals with acceptance of decaying morals, but it's certainly a sin.
If you want to read some of what I've written about racism:
